Being visual is alot like living Modern Art.
Modern Art in most cases tries to make people think - tries to wake people from their cosy daily lifes and give them awareness of what lies behind the borders of everyday.
You take elements - visual or auditive, or certain shapes - people are used to, wait until they have activated theirassociations - and then break the expectations. It’s the unexpected that wakes you, that keeps something in your mind.
And that’s the essence of Visual系。
You play with shapes, colours, elements, that are common and known and that will be recognized by people, but you alienate them at the same time: Different colors, different accessories, differentcombinations. You combine the uncombinable and work out a new patchwork image. Provocative and original.
It’s patched together from many associations, most of the time contradicting, so that people can’t just look at you and judge from what they see. And because it’s the associations of the people that you play with, you are different to each person looking at you.
You make them think about you, and most of the time none of their ideas will match you, and they have to actually listen to you to know you.
